SPRING SESSION APRIL 28- MAY 27, 2020 REGISTRATION: 4/13/20 @ 6:30 PM CLASS TIME: 3:10-4:15 PM WASHINGTON SCHOOL STUDENTS TUESDAYS-: FIVE WEEK SESSION (4/28, 5/5, 5/12, 5/19, 5/26) FITNESS BOOTCAMP (Grades 1-3) Mr. Michael Bukowsky (Phystical Education Teacher at Washington) $135 Come join us for an hour of action filled activities and obstacles that will get your heart pumping and help prepare you for your spring and summer sports seasons. We will concentrate on increasing your cardiovascular and muscular endurance. All fitness levels welcome! Come out and challenge yourself with this exciting new course! SCRIPT WRITING (GRADES 3-5) Mr. John Borja (Fifth Grade Teacher at Washington) HEALTHY HANDS COOKING (All Grades) Mrs. Lilly Bussin (Certified Cooking Instructor) $145 Taught by a certified health coach, cooking instructor, and “allergy mom,” this class will provide the perfect opportunity for children to learn nutrition and cooking skills that foster healthy lifestyles in a fun environment. Your chefs will learn how to cook heart healthy breakfasts, lunches, snacks and dinners. All food and utensils are provided! Students will leave with a great set of practical skills! WEDNESDAYS: FIVE WEEK SESSION (4/29, 5/6, 5/13, 5/20, 5/27) SPRING INTO STEM CHALLENGE WITH LEGOS (All Grades) Play-Well Technologies $135 Spring is here! Spring into STEM with Play-Well and tens of thousands of LEGO® parts. Play baseball in spring training, visit the Cherry Blossom Festival and explore raging waterfalls. Apply real-world mechanical engineering concepts as you design, build, and explore your craziest ideas. LITTLE MEDICAL SCHOOL (GRADES 1-3) Little Medical School of Northeast NJ $135 Little Medical School provides a complete mini-medical school experience which allows children to explore the field of medicine through games, crafts, and interactive demonstrations. Children have fun as they dress up like doctors, use medical instruments and learn how the body works. By participating in these role-playing experiences, Little Medical School® is inspiring tomorrow’s doctors today! This fun, fascinating and thoroughly educational program lets them take it to a whole other level. Kids will have a chance to learn about and use common doctor’s tools, how air flows through the lungs, what happens to food when we eat and how the heart works. They’ll even get to listen to a heartbeat using their own personal working stethoscope, which they get to take home at the end of the course! This course was designed by a team of board-certified physicians and is led by a trained and background-checked instructor passionate about sharing their medical knowledge with young and aspiring “doctors to be.” DRAMA (Grades 3-5) Mrs.Emma Schwartz- Director of the Franklin School 5th Grade Show and Founder of Young People's Drama! $135 The Director of the Franklin 5th Grade Show program, and founder of Young People’s Drama!, Emma Schwartz, will be running an acting course for the Spring MORE sessions. The acting lessons will consist of drama theater games, and learning to perform confidently. Emma will focus on Musical Theater Acting and also comedy/drama acting, working with scenes from a script. Drama is a powerful creative expression that allows students to communicate, and understand others in new ways. Drama is an important tool for cognitive development, and skillfully preparing students to work together in a team-orientated environment. Students will develop their tolerance and empathetic nature, while working in a creative, and positive environment. |
